Tottenham make the MOST money of any Premier League club per match, UEFA report reveals, with only two teams ahead of them across Europe… but where do Man United and Liverpool rank?

A UEFA report has revealed Tottenham make the most money per match of any club in the Premier League.

The governing body released a financial report earlier this week, and it makes for particularly pleasant reading for the north London club.

As calculated by financial expert Kieran Maguire, Spurs make €5.6m (£4.8m) every matchday when taking into account gate revenue and money spent by fans at games, while also deducting how much it costs clubs to host matches.

These figures highlight the benefits Spurs have reaped from moving into their new 62,850-seater stadium in 2019, making it the biggest Premier League ground in England.

It was revealed last month that Spurs are now London’s richest club, according to Deloitte’s Football Money League, having moved ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea thanks to hosting NFL matches and concerts for artists including Beyonce.

And it has now been confirmed that they are generating eye-watering amounts of money for their home football games as well.

The UEFA report looked at clubs across Europe’s top five divisions, and found that only two teams make more money per game than Tottenham.

Spanish giants Barcelona top the rankings as they make €7.6m (£6.5m) every game, while PSG are second as they make €6.6m (£5.6m) per match.

The next Premier League side on the list after Tottenham is Arsenal (£4.2m), who take fifth place just behind Bayern Munich (£4.4m).

Manchester United and Liverpool are seventh and eighth, respectively, with Real Madrid ahead of them in sixth.

AC Milan and Atletico Madrid complete the top 10, with three other English clubs featuring in the top 15 when it comes to making money.

Chelsea may be struggling on the pitch under Mauricio Pochettino, but they are still 12th on UEFA’s list, just one place above defending Premier League champions Manchester City in 13th.

Another London club, West Ham, are 15th, ahead of Serie A giants Juventus.

UEFA’s report also collected data on the most expensive squads assembled across Europe.

It found that United paid the most in transfer fees prior to the end of the 2023 financial year, having spent a staggering £1.2bn, and this did not take into account the significant figures they paid for Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount and Andre Onana last summer.

City and Chelsea made it an all-Premier League top three, with Real Madrid in fourth.
