Xiaomi’s Redmi is gearing up to launch yet another smartphone – the Redmi A3 in India. The company has announced that the upcoming A-series smartphone will debut on February 14 in the country. Along with this, a few details, including the design of the phone have been revealed too.
Ahead of the launch, the Redmi A3 micro-site has gone live on mi.com, which reveals that the smartphone will sport an all-new premium Halo design and will be equipped with a USB Type-C charging port.
The Redmi A3, similar to its predecessor, will feature a leather textured back panel. However, this time around, Redmi is going with an all-new Halo design language, which includes a circular camera module. The Redmi A3 teaser also reveals a dual-rear camera setup and an LED flash. This was recently rumoured too.
The Redmi A3 is also confirmed to get a 90Hz refresh rate display, which is one of the biggest upgrades compared to its predecessor. The Redmi A3 will be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and USB Type-C charging port. The inclusion of a USB Type-C port will be an upgrade compared to the Redmi A2, which features a micro USB port.
The Redmi A3 will sport 6GB of RAM with support for 6GB of virtual RAM. Similar to the Redmi A1 and Redmi A2, we can expect the Redmi A3 to come pre-loaded with stock Android.
Additional details to expect include a 6.71-inch display with a waterdrop notch and Corning Gorilla Glass protection, a 13MP rear camera, 10W charging speeds, and more. It could come in blue, green, and black colourways.
A recent leak suggests that the Redmi A3 might carry a starting price of under Rs 7,000 in the Indian market. We can expect Redmi India to reveal more about the Redmi A3 in the coming days.
